berber often suffers from their carpet fibers being damaged or their loops
unraveling often caused from pet damage, vacuuming, spiked heels or
other sharp objects, or a bad carpet installation with badly sealed seams.
While berber carpet is very durable, and spill resistant it is never a
match against damage from pets. Berber carpet does require more attention when
damaged based on being constructed differently than other carpeting. Normally
berber carpet repairs are obvious to the naked eye and tend to stick out
like a sore thumb and do get worse over time especially if you try to trim
the damaged fiber sprouts with scissors or yank them away. These actions are
never recommended and will do more harm than good in the long run. |
